About Us
GTA is a distinguished public health organization dedicated to advancing the health and well-being of communities in Nepal and across South Asia. With over 25 years of experience, GTA leverages community-centered innovation, evidence-based advocacy, and strategic collaboration to address critical public health challenges. Our comprehensive portfolio encompasses immunization (advocacy & campaigns), antimicrobial stewardship, surveillance & one health approach, professional training and capacity building, mental health initiatives, disaster management and pandemic response, disease prevention & control, and digital health/AI.

GTA has strong partnerships with governmental agencies, international health institutions, research organizations, and local communities, ensuring our programs are both contextually relevant and informed by global best practices. Our organization has achieved notable milestones, including the implementation of antimicrobial stewardship programs, vaccination campaigns, health system strengthening, public health research, and training. It has an experienced team and experts conducting robust research activities and disease surveillance (Eg. cholera), prevention, and control (Eg. HPV, Cervical cancer, cardiovascular diseases). Our decade-experienced disaster management team is supporting local governments in preparedness and response efforts for disasters such as landslides/floods, fires, and earthquakes. We have facilitated the Government of Nepal to conduct the cholera and typhoid vaccination in different districts of Nepal. The integration of the Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine (TCV) into Nepal’s National Immunization Program is one of the successes of GTA’s evidence-based advocacy.

For combating antimicrobial resistance, GTA has delivered antimicrobial stewardship training to over 2,000 healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, microbiologists, paramedics, pharmacists, and community health workers, through both in-person sessions and our Global Learning and Awareness on Antimicrobial Resistance (GLAMR) platform (www.glamrgta.org). We supported the development of antibiotic treatment guidelines and reference materials for the hospitals.

GTA is working on the feasibility of the zero-suicide implementation strategies with the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division, Department of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Population. We are facilitating high-level dialogues, and support the development of national-level strategic frameworks.

At the regional level, GTA is working as a secretariat for the regional knowledge hub for AI-Sarosh, and Zero Suicide International Asia Alliance. The AI-Sarosh is an innovative initiative that leverages artificial intelligence to improve sexual, reproductive, and maternal health services across Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. This pioneering project facilitates collaborative partnerships between technology experts, healthcare professionals, and local communities to design user-centered, culturally sensitive AI solutions for maternal health, adolescent sexual health, mental health, and cervical cancer screening. GTA also plays a pivotal role in mental health advocacy, serving as the Secretariat for the Zero Suicide International Asia Alliance. The alliance will work on implementing the zero-suicide approaches in Asia.

Through innovation, research, and partnerships, GTA continues to drive impactful public health solutions, making a difference in the lives of people in Nepal and across Asia.
