About Us
The Group for Technical Assistance (GTA) is a distinguished public health organization with over 25 years of experience dedicated to advancing health across Nepal and South Asia. Functioning within the same framework with its sister organization GTA Foundation, we leverage community-centered innovation, evidence-based advocacy, and strategic collaboration to address critical public health challenges. Our comprehensive portfolio includes: Immunization (Advocacy and Campaigns), Antimicrobial Stewardship, Surveillance and One Health Approach, Disaster Management and Pandemic Response, Disease Prevention and Control, Professional Training and Capacity Building, Digital Health/AI, Mental Health Initiatives, and Research and Data Analytics Unit.
GTA's impactful public health programs in Nepal are rooted in strong partnerships with governmental agencies, international health bodies, research institutions, and local communities, ensuring contextual relevance and global best practices. Key achievements include Antimicrobial Stewardship, Vaccination Campaigns, Health System Strengthening, and significant Public Health Research. Our experienced teams excel in Disease Surveillance Prevention, and Control (For Instance: Cholera, HPV, Cervical Cancer, Cardiovascular Diseases) while our decade-long Disaster Management expertise supports local preparedness and response in regard to landslides/floods, fires, and earthquakes. Notably, GTA facilitated National Cholera and Typhoid Vaccinations and was instrumental in integrating the TCV into Nepal's National Immunization program through evidence-based advocacy. Furthermore, we collaborate with Nepal's Ministry of Health on Zero-Suicide Implementation Strategies, facilitating dialogues and framework development.
Regionally, GTA serves as the Secretariat for AI-Sarosh, leveraging AI for improved sexual, reproductive, and maternal health across South Asia, and for the Zero Suicide International Asia Alliance, promoting suicide prevention strategies. Through innovation, research, and strong partnerships, GTA continues to drive impactful public health solutions in Nepal and across South Asia.
