Graduate Research Grant (GRG)

1. Introduction
The Graduate Research Grant (GRG) is a flagship initiative of the GTA Foundation, Nepal, implemented in collaboration with the Henry Ford Health Global Health Initiative, USA. This grant program is designed to financially support master’s-level students from health science backgrounds enrolled in Nepalese academic institutions, enabling them to carry out research in critical public health domains.
2. Grant Objective
The GRG aims to advance research that addresses pressing public health challenges in Nepal. By focusing on priority areas such as Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)/Immunization, Mental Health, Oncology, and Health Supply Chain Management, the grant fosters a new generation of researchers committed to strengthening health systems through evidence-based inquiry and impactful interventions.
3. Call for Proposals
Master’s-level students enrolled in health science programs at recognized Nepalese institutions are encouraged to submit Research Concept Notes aligned with the designated thematic areas. Proposals should clearly articulate:
- Research problem
- Objectives
- Literature Review
- Research questions or hypotheses
- Methodology
- Study site and target population
- Sampling strategy
- Data collection tools
- Ethical considerations
- Data analysis plan
- Budget
- Timeline
- Relevant References
Eligible research proposals must fall under one or more of the following priority areas:
- Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)/Immunization
- Mental Health
- Oncology
- Health Supply Chain Management
- 12 research projects successfully funded
- NPR 50,000 awarded per project
