Focal Person: Kshitij Karki
Collaboration/Partner: Gavi
Status: In-line
Objective: To provide technical assistance to the governments of Nepal, Djibouti, and Guinea
Bissau to plan, implement, and strengthen HPV vaccination programs and cervical cancer
prevention efforts. This includes supporting the development of national HPV program
strategies, strengthening service delivery systems, facilitating training for healthcare providers,
enhancing community awareness and demand generation, and integrating HPV vaccination into
broader reproductive health and cancer prevention initiatives.
Expected Outcome: Enhanced national capacity in Nepal, Djibouti, and Guinea Bissau to deliver
sustainable and high-coverage HPV vaccination programs. Improved coordination between
immunization programs and cervical cancer prevention initiatives, resulting in strengthened
prevention, early detection, and awareness of cervical cancer. The project will contribute to
increasing HPV vaccine coverage, especially among adolescent girls, and aligning national
programs with global cervical cancer elimination goals.
