Orientation on Joint Surveillance held to enhance Stakeholder Readiness for AMR Response
An orientation program on Joint Surveillance was conducted on 7th July 2025 at the National Public Health Laboratory to enhance stakeholder readiness for the successful implementation of joint surveillance. The session provided comprehensive guidance on surveillance protocols, sector-specific roles, data collection, data management, and data sharing strategies.
Participants included representatives from NPHL, Central Veterinary Laboratory (CVL), Department of Environment (DoE), Bir Hospital, Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital, and Kathmandu Model Hospital.
The joint surveillance is being led by NPHL, in close collaboration with CVL and DoE, and is supported by the Group for Technical Assistance, the implementing partner of FHI360 Nepal under the Fleming Fund Country Grant in Nepal (FFCGN).
This marks a historical milestone in Nepal, as it is the first time these sectors are collaborating under the One Health framework to carry out AMR surveillance. The activity will further strengthen intersectoral coordination, integrated health governance, and their commitment to combat AMR.
Group for Technical Assistance (GTA) is proud to play the supporting role in implementing the joint surveillance activity.
