Disaster Relief & Response

Supported disaster preparedness in 8 municipalities and assisted 2,000+ households and schools

Description: GTA Foundation is committed to strengthening disaster resilience and providing critical support to communities affected by natural and humanitarian crises. Our Disaster Relief & Response Program focuses on disaster preparedness, emergency response, and recovery efforts to minimize the impact of disasters on vulnerable populations. In direct relief efforts, GTA Foundation has provided aid to over 2,000 households and schools, distributing food, clean water, hygiene kits, shelter materials, and medical support in the aftermath of disasters. Additionally, we have conducted emergency drills, first aid training, and awareness programs to educate communities and schools on disaster preparedness and response.

During Nepal’s second wave of COVID-19, the country faced additional challenges as monsoon- induced flooding and landslides devastated several regions. With support from Give2Asia, GTA Foundation extended relief efforts in Melamchi and Helambu municipalities (Sindhupalchowk region), delivering emergency food, water, hygiene and sanitation kits, and shelters to flood survivors. Give2Asia also facilitated connections with donors, enabling expanded relief and rescue operations for affected communities.

By integrating disaster risk reduction, emergency relief, and long-term recovery efforts, GTA Foundation remains committed to building resilient communities and strengthening Nepal’s capacity to withstand and recover from disasters.
