Capacity Building through Digital Innovation
Status: Phase Out
Objectives: In addition to platform and app development, GTA Foundation conducted
specialized training programs to build AMR awareness and capacity among pharmacy owners,
nurses, and midwives. Key programs included:
1. PhASE Program Training (September 2021): Sensitized community pharmacy owners
and managers on responsible antibiotic dispensing and AMR awareness.
2. Nursing and Midwives Training (August-September 2021): Delivered Training of
Trainers (ToT) sessions to equip nurses and midwives with the knowledge and skills to
promote AMS and IPC best practices.
Outcome: Community pharmacists improved their antibiotic dispensing practices. Nurses and
midwives were empowered to act as AMR champions within their facilities, driving sustainable
infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship at the frontline of care.
