Relief Material Distribution

Relief Material Distribution: GTA has been actively involved in providing relief materials to communities affected by disasters in Nepal. One notable initiative is the Comprehensive Response for Flood Affected Communities in Nepal supported by Give2Asia. This project, implemented from October 2020 to April 2021 in Sindhupalchowk, focused on the coordination and distribution of essential relief materials.

In addition, awareness sessions were conducted on health, nutrition, and disaster preparedness. Warning signs were installed in vulnerable areas, and Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials were developed and distributed to further enhance community awareness. The project also included a mass media campaign, capacity building of local disaster response teams, and the development of contingency plans to enhance long-term preparedness.

In response to the 2015 Earthquake, GTA distributed clothes to earthquake-affected families in Khokana, Lalitpur. Furthermore, water purification chlorine solutions were distributed to displaced camps in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Nuwakot, Sindhupalchowk, Rasuwa, Gorkha, Dhading, and Ramechhap, ensuring access to safe drinking water in temporary shelters.
