GTA successfully completed AMR Training on ESBL-producing E. coli under Fleming Fund Country Grant Nepal ( FFCGN)
Group for Technical Assistance (GTA) implementation partner of Fleming Fund Country Grant in Nepal (FFCGN), supported to conduct a five-day intensive training starting from 6th–11th at the microbiology laboratory of the Department of Environment (DoE) as a part of the Joint AMR Surveillance initiative, adopting a One Health approach.
The training focused on building critical capacity for the isolation and confirmation of ESBL-producing E. coli from environmental samples. It was facilitated by an expert trainer from National Public Health Laboratory (NPHL).
Why does this matter?
We are enabling DoE to:
- Conduct robust environmental AMR surveillance
- Generate critical data for evidence-based action
- Contribute to the national and global fight against AMR through a One Health lens
At GTA, we remain committed to strengthening public health systems to create a safer, healthier future for all.
Together, we can tackle AMR.
