A Vision of Care in Chunikhel, Bungmati Lalitpur

On December 6th, 2025 our community came together for a truly meaningful event a Free Eye Screening Camp at Shree Chunidevi Sikshya Mandir Aadhaarbhut Vidyalaya, Lalitpur Metropolitan City-22 Chunikhel. With 183 participants, the day became a powerful reminder of how collaboration and compassion can transform lives.

This initiative represents the joint efforts of Tilganga Surgical Eye Center, Vision Himalaya, GTA Foundation, Rotary Club of Lalitpur Midtown, the Ward Health Implementation Committee and organized by Lalitpur Metropolitan City (LMC) Ward No 22, and the Bungmati Health Post where local residents received accessible eye checkups, blood pressure and blood sugar screenings, and vital health education all in one place.

Key Highlights:

  • 167 eye examinations completed
  • 20 individuals identified for surgery (14 cataract, 6 pterygium)
  • 57 people received eyeglass prescriptions
  • 15 community members flagged for high blood sugar
  • High participation from women and diverse occupational groups
This initiative is more than an eye camp it’s a step toward preventive care, early detection, and a healthier community. Special thanks to all doctors, volunteers, health workers, and local leaders who made the event seamless and impactful. Together, we are bringing healthcare closer to those who need it most one community at a time.
