Together for a healthier future
GTA Foundation has successfully completed the Endline Survey of the Project, “Antimicrobial Stewardship Program for Veterinary Service Providers and Farming Communities in Nepal” across four different districts of Nepal: Kavre, Dhading, Chitwan, and Nuwakot.
The endline survey included data collection from two important groups:
1. Farmers, including dairy or poultry farmers and farm workers
2. Veterinary Service Providers, including veterinarians, veterinary paraprofessionals, animal health technicians, and agrovets.
The survey is an important component of the project's longitudinal evaluation, generating evidence on antimicrobial use, antimicrobial resistance awareness, animal healthcare-seeking practices, prescribing and dispensing practices, farm hygiene and infection prevention and control, and antimicrobial stewardship. The project uses a One Health approach, recognizing the interconnected health of people, animals, and their shared environment.
We extend our sincere appreciation to all the farmers, farm workers, veterinary service providers, field researchers, local stakeholders, and project partners whose valuable participation and support made the endline survey possible.
This milestone brings us one step closer to generating evidence that can inform responsible antimicrobial use and stronger antimicrobial stewardship practices in Nepal's animal health sector.
