Antimicrobial Use Point Prevalence Survey (AMU PPS)

Group for Technical Assistance (GTA), as an Implementation Partner of FFCGN_FHI360 Nepal, has successfully completed an antimicrobial use point prevalence survey (AMU PPS) across 12 hospitals in Nepal. This initiative was led by QSRD, the Ministry of Health and Population, Nepal.

The survey aimed to generate quality data on the prevalence of antimicrobial use in hospital settings. It provides critical insights that will help inform national antimicrobial stewardship efforts, guide policy, and improve patient safety.

Why does this matter?

Understanding current prescribing practices strengthening local capacity for antimicrobial stewardship supporting Nepal’s efforts in combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR)

What’s next?

We are now working on synthesizing the findings and translating them into actionable recommendations for hospitals and policymakers.

GTA team is grateful to QSRD_MoHP, FHI360 Nepal, AMU PPS sites, and data collectors for making this possible.
