Physical Well-being and Educational Support

A 9-year-old primary-level student from Dovan Bazaar, Taplejung, walks about ten minutes each day to attend her school, where she studies in class three. Life took a heartbreaking turn when a devastating fire destroyed her home and all her belongings. Since then, she has been facing emotional and psychological challenges in her studies, struggling to keep up without basic educational materials.

“My house was completely damaged in the fire, and all my books, copies, and clothes were burnt,” she shared softly. “I felt very sad watching our house burn, and now I worry about my parents as they try to rebuild with very little money.”

During the distribution of educational materials by Group for Technical Assistance such as school uniforms, notebooks, pens, and geometry boxes she arrived quietly, wearing worn-out clothes and very old shoes. Despite her shy demeanor, her eyes lit up when she received the study supplies. The simple gesture brought her comfort and joy in a time of great difficulty.

“I am very happy now because I got my educational materials to continue my studies,” she said with a bright smile. “Thank you so much for your big support.”

Her story is a powerful reminder of how even small acts of care can restore dignity, hope, and a sense of normalcy in the lives of children affected by disaster.
