All Smiles: A Story of Strength from Nepalgunj
A 67-year-old resident of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City, Ward No. 16, vividly recalls the hardships she faced during the global COVID-19 pandemic. As someone who relied entirely on her daily wages from washing utensils at a local restaurant, life took a harsh turn when the country went into lockdown. The sudden halt in economic activity left her jobless, plunging her and her large family including young children into a daily struggle for survival.
Each passing day grew more difficult. With no income and many mouths to feed, she described those months as some of the most challenging times of her life. Yet, in the depths of despair, a moment of relief arrived. She expressed heartfelt gratitude when a relief package supported by Give2Asia and facilitated by Group for Technical Assistance (GTA) reached her doorstep.
“Receiving help when you are at your lowest, when feeding your family became a daily battle, means more than words can even express,” she shared. The assistance provided not only essential supplies but also brought a renewed sense of hope reassurance that she and her community were not forgotten.
She expressed deep appreciation for everyone involved in the distribution, adding that such gestures of solidarity during times of crisis truly matter. With hope in her voice, she concluded by wishing for continued support in the days ahead.
